Congratulations to Doug Weakly and Ken Horn for winning big at last weekend’s Surfings’ Safari Regatta at Corpus Christi Yacht Club. Weakly dominated the 13-boat J/22 fleet by nine points after six races. Weakly sailed with a new inventory of UK Sailmakers Texas’ sails as he overpowered the fleet of many top Texas J/22 sailors. His main, jib and spinnaker are all new designs for 2020.

About his sails, Doug Weakly said, “Once again, UK Sailmakers Texas has provided us with the fastest sails in the fleet. We were confident in the very light, shifty conditions early, through the moderate afternoon breeze that we could hold our lane of the line and pace with any other boat out there.”

Ken Horne trucked his J/105 FINAL FINAL down from Lakewood Yacht Club to sail in the three-boat class in order to get all the practice he can before the Marblehead NOOD Regatta and the 2020 J/105 North Americans. He is out to avenge his 2019 second place finish at the NAs. Horn has working closing with Pedro Gianotti who runs the UK Sailmakers loft in Texas. Horn finished first in all six races and John Bell sailing KINDERSPEL 2 took all second places sailing with a full UK Sailmakers inventory.
